If you're curious, here's my official bio:

I'm an NYC-based interior designer who creates bespoke interiors that are warm, modern, and luxurious.

My expertise is collaborating with high-end residential and hospitality clients to bring their creative vision to life.

I also mentor smart and ambitious design students to help them fast-track their careers and thrive in a competitive industry.

For almost 10 years, I gained vast experience designing at rapidly growing, award-winning NYC architectural firms. 

I used my natural enthusiasm for the creative process to successfully conceive multiple projects during my seven-year tenure at Morris Adjmi Architects (MA).

I skillfully navigated various interior programs and their nuances – from hospitality and luxury condominium buildings, to office and single-family residences. Additionally, I shepherded the creation of the MA x AFNY plumbing collection, which launched in 2019.

Major career highlights at MA also include surreal moments of becoming a lead project designer in my mid-20s, negotiating multiple $10-15K raises(!), and even being the lead designer for an A-list celebrity’s new home.

Additionally, this is where I successfully negotiated multiple 5-figure raises and now I help my students master their negotiation skills.

Recent consulting work for Jeffrey Beers International (JBI) includes a five-star luxury resort in Costa Rica, a recording studio in NYC, and a private residence in Miami.

In 2015 while working at the first large firm, I founded SWhit Design Interiors - perfect for side projects in NYC at that time. Now I've intentionally grown my client base to include private residential projects throughout New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Ohio, and California. I'm currently developing proposals for a few other exciting projects for 2023. 

2020 launched the beginning of SWhit Design Mentoring. I love to share the industry knowledge, resources, and strategies I wish I knew when I started out. Offering support and encouragement to design students and junior designers in their early years is so important since I know it can lead to exponential growth and success! 

My mantra: design, teach, repeat.

 I have a Master of Science in Interior Design from Pratt Institute in NYC, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Maryland
